What a tremendous run we’ve been on these past six months!  Look at what we’ve accomplished as a result of your generous support:

  • The Board of Directors appointed veteran artistic director and Off-Broadway theater producer Corey Pearlstein to chart a new direction for The Majestic. Since Corey’s arrival the company has seen giant leaps forward in the quality of productions and programs.
  • We have launched our new Majestic Education program, which opens this February with a theatrical adaptation of the acclaimed children’s classic A Thousand Cranes. The Majestic is proud to return to its community roots with the restart of this vital program.
  • We are introducing an incredible new Artist In Residency Program that brings nationally recognized artists to work in our community to create new plays and concerts.  Our very first participant is internationally acclaimed vocalist and Tony-Nominated Star of The Lion King, Tsidii LeLoka. This spring Ms. LeLoka will develop a new multi-media concert called To A Rising Sun, using the music of Mariam MeKeba, Nina Simone and Odetta with poetry from Dr. Maya Angelou.
  • Tsidii LeLoka will also be performing a benefit concert for The Majestic Theatre on Saturday January 21.  And yes, tickets are available now.
  • We are in the process of developing a new strategic plan for The Majestic which puts the focus back on the community and our audiences.  In 2012 we will be rolling out a string of new artistic programs including The Majestic Lab, an artistic incubator space, and The Maker’s Space, where culture is an adventure and we’re all Indiana Jones.

Our success is your success, and we thank you for it!  Because of your generous financial support, we can provide the kind of live performance events and public programming experiences you’ve come to expect from The Majestic.
