The Majestic Theatre was built in 1913 as a vaudeville house, the Majestic also served as a live stage for the OSU Theatre Department, and later as a movie house known as the Varsity. In the late 1970s the Majestic “went dark”, and remained boarded up until purchased by the City of Corvallis in the 1980s. The Majestic reopened in 1990 as a community owned and operated performing arts center.

Now, on the eve of its 100th Anniversary, The Majestic is transforming into a cutting-edge venue for contemporary music and live theatre, while retaining its community roots. Please read on.
