Where Stars Learn to Shine!

What is Majestic Education?

The Majestic Theatre Education Program (Majestic Education) is designed to offer the highest quality theatrical instruction and productions for schools and the community. Thousands of students and families participate in the program each year either as actors, technicians or audience members.

Shows

Three Shows are presented during the school year and feature local student actors. Each of these "Shows for Schools" will have six daytime performances per show to allow school audiences to attend as field trips and at least two public performances (see School Shows for details about shows and reserving seats). Majestic Education also presents a one-hour musical each summer featuring local student actors in a two-weekend run. One holiday "Special Event" production featuring local amateur and semi-professional actors of all ages provides an opportunity for both students and adults to participate in Majestic Education. One Modern Dance Program recital in spring rounds out the Education season.

In-House Classes

These 10-week courses offered in Fall, Winter and Spring terms during the school year are curriculum based and are designed to be taken consecutively (see Class Schedule). Majestic Education also offers two week camps for Primary, Elementary, and Teen acting students during the summer months that focus on fun!

Highly motivated intermediate and advanced acting students can continue their learning through practical experience by auditioning for Performance Intensive Classes. These performance-based classes provide an opportunity for young performers to develop skills needed to pursue further performance opportunities. These classes culminate in "Shows for Schools" during the school year and public performances during the summer (see Performance Intensive Classes).

Residencies

Majestic Education staff serve as artists in residence to bring the performing arts out of the theatre and into the community. Both private and public schools benefit from curricula that can be tailored to each schools budget and curriculum needs (for more info see Residencies).

Dance Programs

Modern Dance Technique and Creative Movement, led by Donna Blatt-Ervin joined with Majestic Education in 1992, and offers eleven levels of Modern Dance instruction for beginning through advanced students aged 4½ to 21 (for more info see Modern Dance).

Majestic Education Scholarship Fund

The Majestic Education program is pleased to announce the establishment of a Majestic Education Scholarship Fund for the benefit of our theatre students. Although scholarships have always been available to our students, our ability to provide them was based on the total number of students enrolled each term. A dedicated fund will give us more flexibility in granting scholarships. To support the Majestic's Scholarship Fund, contact Education Director, Amaya Egusquiza, at 753-0284 or donate online at the link below.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Support education and the arts by sponsoring one of our upcoming student shows. Financial support is always needed, but many shows also need materials. To support the Majestic's Education program or one of our shows, contact Education Director, Amaya Egusquiza, at 753-0284.
