DANCING WITH THE CORVALLIS STARS
Join the Majestic Theatre, da Vinci Days, The Whiteside Theatre, The Arts Center, Cornerstone Associates, and Corvallis School District Theaters as they raise funds and dance the night away in the style of Dancing with the Stars!
Six Corvallis stars will compete in a live ballroom dance-off in order to win the coveted Mirrorball Trophy and raise funds for their organization! Contestants are Chris Heuchert (da Vinci Days), Deborah John (The Arts Center), Jen Waters (Whiteside Theatre), Jimbo Ivy (Majestic Theatre), Jon Hollis (Cornerstone Associates), and Kelly Volkmann (Corvallis School District Theaters)!
Over the course of a week, each of these Stars will learn a ballroom dance routine with their professional partner that they will perform live onstage. Add in some amazing costumes, video highlights, a judging panel, and you have a show that you have to see to believe. You will laugh, cry, and laugh some more. The best part is that YOU, the audience, will vote for who will win and take home the Mirrorball Trophy!
Want to help your preferred champion win? There are three ways that they can score points:
Hitting their fundraising goal. Each organization has agreed $2500 as their fundraising target. If they hit it, they get 30 points! If they raise more than $2500, they get extra points!
The Judges Scores. We will have three celebrity judges for the contest and they will judge the contestants 90 second dance routine and give them between 1 and 10 points. So another 30 points up for grabs and you can help by cheering for them during their routine and thus swaying the judges. The highest scoring dancer will also receive the Judge’s Prize, a cash donation from one of our sponsors!
The Audience Vote. Every person who attends the live event January 11th will be given a paper ballot to cast their vote for they want to win. 30 more points will be up for grabs AND the contestant receiving the most votes will win a bonus cash prize for their charity! The highest voted dancer will also receive the Audience Vote Prize, a cash donation from one of our sponsors!
So, how can you help your champion the most? Donate, Attend, Cheer, and Vote!
