We are particularly eager to work with artists of color and other artists from marginalized communities. All auditions are free and open to the public. This audition is for an amateur, volunteer production. The Majestic Theatre staff and volunteers do not discriminate on the basis of age, national origin, race, gender, ethnic background, ability, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or any protected class.

Auditions will be held in person at the Majestic Theatre.

Vocal and dance auditions will take place Monday and Tuesday. Please sign up for a 30 minute dance audition slot as well as a 10-minute vocal audition slot.

Note: ONLY SIGN UP FOR ONE SLOT ON EITHER MONDAY OR TUESDAY (PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND BOTH DAYS OF VOCAL AND DANCE AUDITIONS). If all slots are filled, we will accept walk-ins on Monday and Tuesday.

There are also several non-singing roles. To be considered for these, please submit an audition form as well as a video of yourself performing one or all of the phrases in the accent requested. We are listening for the accents and these phrases are not gender specific at this time. We will be using the Acting with an Accent series by David Allen Stern as a guide for actual rehearsals.

If you would like to be considered for both singing and non-singing roles, please sign up for a slot and submit an accent audition using the provided instructions.

SHOW SYNOPSIS

In this beloved musical, pompous phonetics professor Henry Higgins is so sure of his abilities that he accepts a wager to transform a Cockney working-class girl into someone who can pass for a cultured member of high society. His subject is the lovely Eliza Doolittle, who agrees to speech lessons to improve her job prospects. Despite his cynical nature and difficulty understanding women, Higgins grows attached to her.

FROM THE DIRECTOR [Emily Ferrin]

Join us for this classic tale full of sweeping melodies, timeless tunes, and gorgeous costumes.

PREPARATION NOTES

Please prepare 16-20 bars of a song (approx. a minute of music). Please bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided. Dance auditions will take place Monday and Tuesday. Please sign up for a 30 minute dance audition slot as well as a 10 min vocal audition slot.
