Join The Majestic Theatre Volunteer Community!

We have awesome ongoing volunteer opportunities that will allow you to explore every level of interest and ever stage of production from beginning to end. Our theater is not only community-focused and community-based, but also community-staffed! It takes YOU!

The Majestic welcomes volunteers of all skills levels and backgrounds to be involved in our theatrical productions and events.

Our ongoing volunteer opportunities may include positions for ushers, concessions help, poster routes, performers, stage crew, board operators, set builders and designers, hair, makeup, and costume assistants and designers, stage managers, directors, and more!

Postering Street Team

Distribute posters throughout a predetermined zone for the purposes of Majestic Theatre promotion. Approximately 2-4 hours of legwork per packet

Musician

Our main stage musicals are accompanied by a full pit orchestra and we often need more musicians. The Music Director for each show recruits instrumentalists to play in the pit who are highly experienced and available for performances and Saturday morning rehearsals. If you are interested in being part of an upcoming production, let us know what instrument you play and our Music Directors will contact you when performance opportunities are available!
Commitment: 4-6wks of 3hr Saturday morning rehearsals, some evening rehearsals, and all performances

Actor

We select our actors through an open audition process and are always looking for new folks. We do not require any previous stage experience and have a variety of opportunities from large main stage musicals to our smaller Reader’s Theatre productions in the Lab Theatre. Often actors can pick up audition packets or check out scripts prior to auditions in our Business Office (open Tues-Fri, 12-5pm).
Commitment: Mainstage Shows: Evening rehearsals 4 to 5 times per week for 2-3 hours over a period of 2-4 months. Reader’s Theatre Shows: Eight to ten two hour rehearsals over the course of 4-6 weeks, no memorization required as shows are done with scripts in hand.

Volunteering as an Assistant Stage Manager

The ASM(s) are the backstage representatives of the Stage Management and Production teams, and communicate with everyone to coordinate the complex dance that is the tech of a show.
