We are particularly eager to work with artists of color and other artists from marginalized communities. All auditions are free and open to the public. This audition is for an amateur, volunteer production. The Majestic Theatre staff and volunteers do not discriminate on the basis of age, national origin, race, gender, ethnic background, disability, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.

This celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum know as 'the relationship.' Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage, while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set. This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, 'Say, what are you doing Saturday night?'

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is a musical that takes place in various locations. Presented in the form of a series of vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships. The play's tagline is "Everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers and in-laws, but were afraid to admit." With few exceptions, the scenes stand independent of the others, but progress in a fashion designed to suggest an overall arc to relationships throughout the course of one's life. A unit set on which various pieces of furniture and scenic elements can come and go quickly to suggest various locales such as a restaurant, kitchen, wedding chapel, living room, and four swivel chairs representing a car.

All characters do not have a specific race or ethnic background; we're excited to see a diverse pool of artists audition for all roles. In the original production, all characters were played by a cast of four. Each scene in the revue introduces new characters who are not seen again, and therefore it can be cast with virtually as many performers as desired. However, due to COVID-19 we will be keeping the cast size small in order to adhere to physical distancing guidelines.

Dialogue: Rehearsals involving character dialogue will be scheduled over our ZOOM video conferencing solution.

Vocals: Rehearsals will be spaced more than six feet apart wearing personal protective equipment in an open environment. Only the singer(s), director, vocal director and accompanist will be allowed in the room. All physical distancing measures will be followed. All rehearsals will be off-site (not at the Majestic).

Blocking/Staging: All performing artists, crew and musicians will be blocked over six feet apart during rehearsals and wearing personal protective equipment. All physical distancing measures will be followed.

Performances: The show will be performed LIVE on the Majestic stage and made available via a paid streaming service. The cast, crew, and musicians will all perform and operate over six feet apart during the entire run of the show. Crew and musicians will be wearing personal protective equipment.
