MAJESTIC QUARANTAINMENT PRESENTS: SUNDAY SHOWCASE OF NEW PLAYS
STATUESQUE: TWO SHORT COMEDIES
The Statue, by Jeannette Miller Mickenham
Civic Virtue, by John Byrne
Sunday, May 10th at 2:30pm
Two fantastic comedies about magical (?) statues in two new plays from two fantastic local playwrights. In Jeannette Miller Mickenham's "The Statue," the cynical Claire must deal with her hopelessly romantic and superstitious friend Sidney's insistence that the failure of Claire's marriage must OBVIOUSLY have been influenced by a spooky statue that's been stashed in Claire's attic for years. Then, in John Byrne's "Civic Virtue," a harried new Parks and Recreation employee must contend with her boss's impossible demands using the powers she's been keeping a secret. Can she work her magic on a park's commemorative statue to have everything ready in time for a surprise inspection? The Statue, by Jeannette Miller Mickenham
