Call for Submissions: “Time” themed artwork.
This upcoming February, the Majestic Theatre invites artists to participate in a time themed art show in conjunction with our upcoming production of William Shakespeare’s COMEDY OF ERRORS. If you are interested in submitting a piece for this show, please e-mail Gabriela Oh at gallery@majestic.org.
The characters in Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors have different relationships with time. The play traditionally takes place in marketplace. Shakespeare takes the world of money and material wealth and puts it up against the needs of the family. This collision of commerce and time are at the heart of most conflicts. The great costs of being too busy is our sense of self and loss of identity. We lose the connections of relationships, love, and family. Are we blind followers to Time? How will we slow down and see and hear each other?

Submission Requirements
The Majestic Theatre holds community art shows centered on various themes throughout the year. We invite local artists and members of the community to drop off a work of art to be hung in our South Lobby Gallery as part of our shows. There is no entry fee or jury process. Simply bring an original work that meets the requirements below and we will hang your piece.
Artwork must be 100% ready to hang or display with appropriate hanging mechanism. We do not frame artwork.
Artwork must not exceed 24 inches in any direction or 15 pounds.
Artwork must be dropped off and picked up during the designated times. We do not store artwork.
Artwork must be accompanied by a completed submission form.
Artwork must be relevant to the theme of “time” in conjunction with the production of William Shakespeare’s COMEDY OF ERRORS
Due to our limited gallery space, we will only be able to accommodate between 15-20 pieces per show, so space in the show will be based on a first come basis. Please contact Gabriela Oh at gallery@majestic.org, if you have any questions about the requirements.
